NCAA Divisions (The Traditional Route)
The “Head Count” Model: 85 players get full rides. If you get an offer, it covers everything. Walk-ons pay full tuition.

The “Equivalency” Model: Coaches have a pool of money (63 scholarships for FCS, 36 for D2) to split among the roster.

The “Merit” Model: Zero athletic dollars. Financial aid packages are built on your GPA, test scores, and family need (FAFSA).

The “Hidden Gem” Routes
Often ignored by families chasing the “D1 logo,” these divisions offer significant playing time and financial support.
NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics)
The Flexible Alternative. NAIA schools operate independently of the NCAA. They are often smaller, private colleges that can offer highly competitive packages.

- No “Dead Periods”: Coaches can text, call, and offer you anytime. No complex calendars.

JUCO (Junior College / NJCAA)
The Development Route. Two-year schools designed to get your grades up or your film improved before transferring to a 4-year university.

- Cost Effective: Drastically cheaper tuition for the first 2 years.
- Recruitment Reset: D1 coaches heavily recruit JUCO transfers who have proven they can play at the college level.
